Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival

Beer, live music, and stunning Colorado landscape. If any of those things pique your interest, you will love the Craft Spirits Festival. Travel to Breckenridge between October 18-20 and get your fill of mixology classes, delicious local cuisine, scavenger hunts, and heaps of beer tastings! Events are happening all through the weekend, so the possibilities are endless. Tickets are $45 in advance or $55 at the door.

Isak Heartstone Sculpture

Trolls were once a thing of legend, a myth, a fairytale. This is not the case on the Trollstigen Trail in Breckenridge. There lies a 15-foot tall wooden sculpture of the creature from the stories we read as children. Built out of recycled wood by Danish artist Thomas Dambo for the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA), Isak Heartstone is a must-see when visiting Breckenridge. Located just a 15-minute walk from the Welcome Center, head south on Main Street toward Peak 9, take a left and head toward the Stephen C. West Ice Arena and pass the Railroad Park on the right, and the Trollstigen Trailhead is in the Southeast corner by the Illinois Gulch trailhead. This unique experience is one everyone will enjoy, and the best part is: it’s free!

Picturesque Breckenridge Hiking Trails

If there is one thing Colorado is known for, it’s the stunning mountains that dominate the horizon, and the legendary trails and hikes through them. Breckenridge is home to many hikes that range from easy to hard in difficulty. Try one of our favorites listed below:

  1. Quandary Peak Trail (Level: Hard)
This 6.7-mile trail is a fan favorite for Colorado hikers. Wildflowers line the path and the out-and-back again trail is dog-friendly and well worth the difficulty level. Quandary Peak Trail is open year-round, and although the peak sits at 14,625 feet, it is very achievable. Prepare beforehand by bringing plenty of water and sunscreen, and check up on the most recent reviews to see what other hikers are saying!
  1. McCullough Gulch Trail (Level: Moderate)
Slightly shorter than the Quandary Peak Trail and a level down in difficulty, McCullough gulch is a 6.2-mile hike that features some of Colorado’s most stunning lakes and waterfalls. A heavily trafficked trail, this hike is open from April until October and is dog-friendly, so why not start the Autumn season off right with a trek through the changing trees?
  1. Hoosier Ridge Trail (Level: Easy)
Located just outside of Breckenridge, the Hoosier Ridge trail is a 2.2-mile loop that is perfect for every range of hikers.
