There is a saying amongst mountain town locals, “The winters will bring you but the summers will keep you." Breckenridge is known in the winter for powder days and world-class skiing, but summers bring just as many (if not more) opportunities to get out and enjoy the mountain sunshine. If you are meeting in the mountains, plan some time for your group to get out and explore. Here are the top five activities for groups in Breckenridge.

Hiking
Hiking is one of the most easily accessible summer activities in Breckenridge with over 50 miles of single track hiking trails within the greater Breckenridge area and many more trails within a short driving distance. Depending on the ability and goals of your group, hiking can be a leisurely afternoon activity or an all-day excursion. Beaver Run is located right on the mountain with two popular hiking trailheads on property. For a leisurely outing in between meetings, hop on the Select 10 trail which leads to a secluded reservoir on Peak 8 or for a more adventurous excursion try the Burro Trail which connects to the Mohawk Lakes Trail. As the name implies, the Mohawk Lakes trail ends at the shores of two high alpine lake and provides breathtaking, panoramic views of Breckenridge and the Blue River Valley. Biking
Biking is an extremely popular summer activity in the mountains. Breckenridge maintains miles of mountain bike trails ranging from beginner to expert and also provides a paved recreation bike path that runs all the way through town and around Lake Dillon. This path is perfect for road biking and can take groups of riders through the most scenic parts of the county. For an easy, fun and fast ride, book a Group Bike tour down Vail pass with Breck Sports. They provide your group with all the equipment you need and take you on a 20 minute shuttle ride to the top of Vail Pass where you and a guide race downhill along a paved path past rivers, over bridges and through pine tree forests.

Yoga
Having trouble finding time in your busy schedule to take the group out for a little exercise? Bring the activity to you! Beaver Run has cultivated a strong partnership with Meta Yoga Studio based in downtown Breckenridge. They offer group classes and workshops that you could provide before or after your meetings, or an instructor could even drop in for a 5 minute guided stretch in between speakers or sessions. If you find the time to leave the property they even offer guided hikes and SUP (stand up paddleboard) yoga specifically tailored to large conferences or meetings. Tours and Museums
Breckenridge was originally founded as a mining base camp in 1850 and glimpses of this rich heritage can still be spotted all around the Breckenridge area. Take a walking tour around town to discover over 350 historical structures still standing today. You will see treasures like the Gold Pan Saloon, the oldest bar in town, which installed a giant mirror behind the bar so miners could keep one eye on their gold while sipping their whiskey. Remains of old mines and mining camps are also sprinkled throughout the mountain trails around town. Teambuilding
Mountain environments provide a wealth of activities and ways to bring your group closer together. Head up Peak 8 for a high ropes challenge with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center or explore Breckenridge’s historical district with a scavenger hunt planned by the Breckenridge Tourism Office. Take a cooking class featuring game and produce native to the mountains. Learn to paint a mountain landscape or try rock climbing. There are teambuilding activities for groups of any size.
